17th century 8-day longcase

A very rare 17th century 8-day oak pannelled longcase by John Sanderson of Wigton, with religeous verses to the dial centre and corners. Dating from the early 1690s this has to be one of Sandersons earliest surviving 8-day clocks to come to light so far (if not earliest).

17th century 30-hour with original verge escapement

A wonderfull and extremely rare 30-hour, made during the 17th century by a very interesting maker. The clock retains its original verge escapement and has a beautifully engraved dial centre of flowers. This fabulous clock is a very original example and will be a most exciting addition to primitive clocks website when illustrated!
